BandSure Liability, Property and Directors & Officers Insurance

The Canadian Band Association (Ontario) is always looking for ways to increase the benefit to community bands and orchestras who join. We are very pleased to announce two new items that will provide a direct advantage to member groups while saving them money!

Often the CBA(O) has been asked about liability insurance. More and more often musical groups are required to provide proof of liability insurance in order to book rehearsal and performance space. CBA(O) examined the market and contacted the insurance broker who provides liability insurance to Choirs Ontario. Our broker was able to negotiate with insurance companies and arrange for an excellent policy for CBA(O) member groups. We are now introducing BandSure, a comprehensive Insurance offering for bands and orchestras who are members of the Canadian Band Association (Ontario). Coverage highlights are

A basic premium of $750/year provides $2,000,000 in liability insurance and $30,000 in property insurance (for music and group owned instruments)
Option to increase Liability coverage to $5,000,000 at an additional fee
Option to increase Property coverage at an additional fee
Directors and Officers coverage is available at an additional $450/year with coverage starting at $1,000,000

CBA(O) Webhosting Service

CBA(O), in order to improve it’s online presence, examined various Canadian web-hosting firms. The primary goal was to find a Canadian based service that met the requirements of our organization while at the same time providing the opportunity for CBA(O) member groups to host their websites. Primary consideration was given to web hosting services who provided the ability to host multiple domains (band websites), large capacity storage (for pictures and music postings) and operationally no limit on hosting traffic. The hosting service we selected provides:

Unlimited Storage
Unlimited bandwidth
Unlimited domain hosting
Email forwarding and full email distribution list management

These services are offered to all member organizations of the Canadian Band Association (Ontario) and is available free as part of your annual group membership.

Types of Membership

There are six types of memberships available:

Type of Membership	Cost	Eligibility / Specific Benefits
Individual	$40/year	Both musicians and non-musicians are welcome to join.
Student	$25/year	For full-time highschool and college/university students.
Band/Ensemble	$50/year	Gives your band/ensemble access to CBA-Ontario resources.. Note: This is a membership for your group (you will supply us with a contact person). This is not a membership for your individual group members.
Institutional	$50/year	If you are an educational institution that supports music programs, join the CBA-Ontario to be kept up to date with the band music community.
Industry/Subscription	$80/year	Support band music in Ontario.
Honorary	n/a	Honourary life memberships are presented at the discretion of the association to individuals who have made significant and long contributions to banding in Ontario.

To join or to renew a membership with the Canadian Band Association (Ontario) you now have 2 options:

1. ONLINE, Use a Credit Card or PayPal

Step 1 - Application
- Click on the link to the Membership Application Form.

- Fill in the Application Form and save the file.

- Email the completed Application form to membership@cba-ontario.ca.

    Step 2 - Payment
     - Select Membership Type from the drop-down menu.
     - Click on the Buy Now button. This will take you to the PayPal site, where you can securely complete the payment process using a credit card or your PayPal account.
       Note: Please enter the name of the CBA(O) member in the comments field in PayPal so we can cross-reference payments with application forms.

2. MANUAL
